Daughter of Kindness
Every day we show kindness to different people in different ways. God has recently taken me on a journey during which He began to show and teach me deeper things about kindness, and I would like to share part of this journey with you.
“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in Heaven.”MATTHEW 6:1
As we move closer to the light (“God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John1:5), His light begins to reveal otherwise hidden and dark corners in our hearts. Many times, I caught myself being kind and good towards others in an attempt to get something in return, be it value, recognition and/or love. The first lesson that I learned on this journey is that your acts of kindness are motivated from a place of love when you are in an intimate relationship with Jesus. You love because He first loved you. You are kind because He has shown you incredible kindness. You move away from being kind and good for love to being kind and good because of love. You are no longer kind in order to be seen by others or for self-validation.
This is when you and I are able to be kind to people who can ́t or have absolutely nothing they could possibly give us in return. True, genuine kindness is now able to flow through us like a river unhindered. No longer do we show kindness for selfish gain, but we show kindness with a true desire to be an extension of God’s love on this earth. I am kind because He has been kind to me.
Stay connected to Jesus, your source of perfect love because His love and kindness satisfies all needs, restores, and changes us! What would happen if we as a sisterhood of women decided to look at being kind as a mission we are on daily? The relationships around us would be healthy and doors to speak hope into someone’s life will present themselves. What if we were the hands of feet of Christ, carrying kindness with us everywhere we go? Our world would change! Today can be the day that you begin to sow seeds of kindness.
